Complete Spanner’s
is the first pictorial guide to running, repairing, modernising and
restoring the classic Lambretta scooter.
Compiled with the help of
the world’s foremost Lambretta experts by Scootering Magazine’s former
editor, this is the most comprehensive technical manual ever produced
for ‘Slimstyle’ models.
Whether your interest in
Lambretta is leisure riding, customising, rallying, tuning, restoring or
even racing, there is something in the ‘Complete Spanner’s Manual’
for you . . .
“. . . long overdue. I’m
glad someone’s had the balls to see it through”
·
Dave Welford, Lambretta Club of Great Britain
“An
absolutely essential guide for every Lambretta owner – especially if
their scooter is broken”
·
Andy Gillard, editor of Scootering Magazine
The Complete Spanner’s manual
is specifically about the massively popular ‘Slimstyle’ Lambretta
scooters produced in Italy from the early 1960s right through to the
late 1990s in India. Models covered include LI-3, TV, Special, SX and GP
and derivatives. While the manual concentrates on Italian-produced
models, there is still plenty in it for owners of Spanish or Indian
machines.
The book is laid out in an
easy-to-follow pictorial format with hundreds of colour photographs and
technical tips to make fixing and using a Lambretta as trouble-free as
possible. The information has been compiled with the help of many of the
worlds leading Lambretta collectors, restorers, mechanics and tuners.
The text is written in the accessible and familiar style of Scootering
Magazine’s long-time staff writer and former editor.
Chapters include:
- Tools for the job

Besides chapters on stripping
and rebuilding both chassis and engines in original format, the book
also covers advanced engine building to make use of the many improved
parts that have become available for these machines over the past 30
years. In a world where original factory parts are no longer available,
those rebuilding a scooter need all the help they can get to identify
quality components.
The book will be of great use
to those restoring scooters since it contains information on identifying
many of the commonly confused parts from various models. Appendices
include lists of all the available original and special gearboxes
produced and how to identify them, as well as colour wiring diagrams,
torque settings and jetting details for standard machines.
